We recently added a variety of tasty treats for your enjoyment, including chocolate-toffee dipped potato chips, chocolate popcorn, zesty snack mix and gingerbread cake.  We had a Cherry Chocolate Fruitcake, but it sold on the first day.  If you’d like to order one for yourself let us know!  In the coming days we’ll be adding white chocolate dipped pretzel sticks and homemade fudge.  The fudge is GREAT!  I sampled it tonight, and…wow!  Come check it out later this week!

Northern Lights Candles

Saturday, December 10 is Day 2 of our 12 Days of Christmas sale.  Our sale item this day will be our Northern Lights candles, and we will be offering 25% off of these.  These candles are very beautiful to look at, they are elegantly packaged and burn cleanly.  They smell great too!  So, come check them out this Saturday and get yours for that special someone.

Bentley Collegiate Drinkware - KU and KSU

We are pleased to announce this year’s 12 Days of Christmas sals at Scraps, and tomorrow, 12/9/11, is the first day of sales!  We will count down on each business day leading up to Christmas, so check e-mail or subscribe to the blog to stay current on each day’s sale.

Our first sale will be on Bentley’s Collegiate Drinkware.  We will be offering the KU-themed Drinkware at a 25% discount.  Bentley Drinkware is made of high quality plastic, guaranteed against breakage.  It is dishwasher safe, and should not fade.  As an added bonus it is made in America, so you can be proud to support fellow Americans with your purchase!

New Gelato Flavors at Scraps!!

We’d like to thank our great customers for making the gelato addition a great success!  We’ve seen a lot of familiar faces come in for gelato, and more importantly, made some new friends as well.  Well, a little over a month after Gelato made its grand entrance, we are excited to announce a whole host of new flavors!  Below are some of the additions, but you can see the entire menu here.

So, come beat the heat at Scraps, and try out our new flavors!

That’s right, that tasty Italian frozen dessert, a European ice cream of sorts, with some distinct differences.

1.  Gelato is whipped at a lower speed, so less air is whipped into the final product, resulting in a denser product, with more intense, concentrated flavors.

2.  Gelato  is made with less butterfat, which, all things being equal, makes it a lower fat product than ice cream, and also results in more intense and immediate perception of flavors.

3.  Gelato is stored at a lower temperature than ice cream, which means that it melts quicker in the mouth, resulting in more immediate appreciation of flavors.  It may also reduce brain freezes (but this is unofficial!)!
